Dave finds his greatest joy being positioned in churches that want to grow spiritually, numerically and desire to make a Godly impact locally and globally.  He finds satisfaction in watching God change lives and witnessing the power of God at work.  Besides his wife and kids, his greatest asset is his enthusiasm, energy and contagious joy of the Lord.  Pastor Dave spent most of his life in the NW.  He is a graduate of Redmond, Washington High School, Lutheran Bible Institute, Pacific Lutheran University and Luther Seminary.

His hobbies include running, hiking, fitness and hanging out with his wife and kids. Pastor Dave is readily available to meet you about anywhere if Jesus, ice cream, coffee, fitness, or sports is on your mind.

She holds a Bachelors of Science Degree as well as her Associates in Ministry degree. She has been involved in teaching and ministry for over 30 years and has a huge passion for Jesus, children, music and missions.

Her love for music and children has led her to start and direct the Corner Children’s Choirs that sing during the year in our congregation and throughout our community. Alex Wenig

Director of Worship Ensembles

Alexandra Wenig joined the worship staff at Community of Faith in the fall of 2017. A Texas native, she previously served as Director of Music and the Arts at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Kingwood, TX, a suburb of Houston. Alex is passionate about music in Christian worship, and values integrating songs and hymns of the modern era as well as sharing powerful music written by saints that walked in centuries before, sharing an ancient, deep, and common experience. These varied styles are reflected in her solo album, Offering, a project which explores her love of spiritually connective classical music as well as her interest in songwriting. All profits from Offering will go to the benefit of Tumaini Orphanage in Soy, Kenya.

Before she was called into worship ministry as a vocation, Alex played for 14 seasons as a member of the Houston Symphony’s first violin section. She enjoys traveling with husband Steve and sons Noah and Gabriel and pursuing beauty wherever it is found.

Statement of Faith

Community of Faith confesses, teaches, and holds fast to the following:

We believe in the Triune God (Matthew 28:19,  2 Corinthians 13:14):

  • The Father, Creator of all that exists (Genesis 1:1, Hebrews 11:3);
  • Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over sin, death, and the devil (1 Timothy 1:15,  1 John 2:2); and
  • The Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God’s Word and the Sacraments (1 Corinthians 12:3, John 3:5).

We confess and teach the basics of the Christian faith summarized in four brief phrases of the Reformation of the 16th Century—relevant for the past, present, and future church: Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Scripture Alone, and Christ Alone.

Grace Alone

God loves all people, even though sinful, rebellious, and undeserving of His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love
the unlovable and save the ungodly (Romans 5:6, Titus 3:4-7).

Faith Alone

By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him (Ephesians 2:8, John 3:16).

Scripture Alone

The Bible is God’s inspired and inerrant Word; it reveals both law and gospel; it points us to the only savior of the world —Jesus Christ—and is the sole rule, norm, and authority for Christian life. We believe the Word of God— the Word (Jesus Christ), the proclaimed Word (the Gospel) and the Written Word (the Bible)—is the source and authority for our life of faith (Romans 10:17, Hebrews 4:12,  2 Timothy 3:16).

Community of Faith shall embrace and conduct its operations and ministries in accordance with the Bible. The Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds, and the Book of Concord, attest to the witness of the Bible and will be used as guiding expressions of the Christian faith.

Christ Alone

There is by no other name or way where sins can be forgiven, our relationship with God restored, and eternal life given other than Jesus Christ alone (John 14:6, Acts 4:12, John 3:36).

Members of Community of Faith also uphold these Biblical values:
